Somatic Experiencing (SE™)
You don’t have to think your way out of this. Your body already knows the way.
Somatic Experiencing™
You’ve tried to understand your patterns. You’ve reflected, processed, and made sense of your story.
But your body still feels…
tense. on edge. shut down. exhausted.
That’s because trauma doesn’t just live in your thoughts.
It lives in your nervous system.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based approach to healing trauma that helps you gently release stored stress and reconnect with a sense of safety—from the inside out.
What is Somatic Experiencing™?
Somatic Experiencing is a trauma-informed therapy developed by Peter Levine that focuses on how trauma is held in the body—not just the mind.
Instead of retelling your story over and over, we work with:
Body sensations
Nervous system responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)
Subtle shifts in tension, breath, and awareness
This allows your system to complete stress responses that may have been interrupted, helping you move out of survival mode and into a more regulated, grounded state.
Why This Matters
If you’re someone who is high-achieving, self-aware, and constantly “on”, you may have learned to override your body’s signals to keep going.
Over time, this can look like:
Chronic anxiety or overthinking
Emotional numbness or disconnection
Burnout that doesn’t go away with rest
Difficulty slowing down without guilt
Feeling “fine” on the outside, but overwhelmed internally
Somatic therapy helps you stop pushing through and start listening inward—without judgment.
This approach may be a good fit if:
You’ve done talk therapy but still feel stuck in your body
You struggle to feel your emotions or feel overwhelmed by them
You want a slower, more embodied approach to healing
You’re ready to move beyond coping and into lasting nervous system change
Is Somatic Experiencing Right for You?
Trauma & PTSD (including complex trauma)
Burnout and chronic stress
Anxiety, panic, and nervous system dysregulation
Emotional numbness or disconnection from self
Attachment wounds and relational patterns
Cultural, intergenerational, and identity-based stress
What Somatic Experiencing Can Help With
A Different Way to Heal
You don’t have to force insight.
You don’t have to push yourself harder.
Your body already holds the blueprint for healing.
We just need to create the space for it to unfold.
